What is “stock” in Tourbiz?
A stock defines a maximum capacity on a time slot: the number of spots, passes, participants, or any other unit you choose. Once the limit is reached, the slot automatically closes to online booking.
1. A stock can cover several products at once
This is the fundamental principle: the same stock can be shared across several products.
Real example: Bungee Jumping in Ardèche:
The site has a jump platform with a capacity of 20 jumps per slot. Several products use this same platform:
- Solo Jump
- Duo Jump
- Family Jump
Rather than creating a separate stock for each, you create a single “Ardèche” stock associated with all three products. As soon as a booking is made on any of the three, the shared stock decreases. This prevents overselling beyond the site’s actual capacity, whatever the combination of products booked.
💡 So in the Product availability list, you see stocks by site or area, not by individual product.
2. The privatizable stock
The privatizable stock is a special type of stock that automatically closes an entire slot as soon as a single booking is confirmed, regardless of the number of people in that booking.
When to use it?
For private group experiences, transfers, or any service where a single booking takes up 100% of the capacity — even if the group is small.
Example:
A private group jump in Ardèche. A customer books for 4 people. Even though the platform could accommodate 20, the slot closes entirely as soon as this booking is made. The other slots for the day remain open.
⚠️ Not to be confused with a stock limited to 1: the privatizable stock closes the slot regardless of the number of participants selected in the booking.
3. Stock by price type vs. shared stock
Tourbiz lets you choose how stock is deducted based on price types (adult, child, group…).
Option A — Shared stock (adults and children in the same counter)
All bookings, regardless of price, draw from a single stock.
Example: Stock of 20 spots. A group books 10 adults + 5 children = 15 spots deducted. 5 spots remain for other bookings, across all categories.
Use when: the capacity is physical (a platform, a boat, a room) and doesn’t depend on the participants’ age.
Option B — Stock by price type (one counter per rate)
Each price type has its own independent stock.
Example: 15 adult spots and 10 child spots. Once the 10 child spots run out, the child rate closes — but there’s still capacity on the adult side.
Use when: you have category-specific constraints (supervision, equipment, regulations) that limit each type of participant independently.
4. Bonus — Stock deduction unit (a unique feature ✨)
This is one of the most powerful and rare features on the market. It lets you define how many stock units a booking consumes, using a unit smaller than the product itself.
The principle
Instead of counting “spots,” you define a finer unit of measure (a lap, an hour, a pass, an entry…). Each product/package indicates how many units it consumes. Tourbiz calculates in real time which packages are still available given the remaining stock.
Real example: the race car experience
A race car can do 30 laps per hour. You offer 4 packages:

The stock is defined in laps (unit = 1 lap), with a total of 30 laps per slot. The 4 packages share this same stock.
How it works in practice:
- A customer books the Gold Package (15 laps) → 15 laps remain
- A second customer books the Silver Package (10 laps) → 5 laps remain
- At this point, Tourbiz knows 5 laps remain. It automatically shows:
- ✅ Fun Package (2 laps) → available
- ✅ Bronze Package (5 laps) → available (just barely!)
- ❌ Silver Package (10 laps) → unavailable
- ❌ Gold Package (15 laps) → unavailable
Where to configure this?
On each product’s sheet, you define the number of stock units deducted per booking. The stock itself is created in Activity → Product availability with the desired unit.
🏆 This logic is especially well suited to activities where capacity is measured in something other than a number of people: flight time, number of laps, quantity of material, number of entries, etc.
